Camp Mud offers a great introduction to working with clay for young potters and clay artists aged 9 to 14.  We help develop skills in throwing on the potter’s wheel as well as a variety of handbuilding techniques.

The instructor gives a solid grounding in pottery fundamentals. On the wheel, students learn how to center a mound of clay and later how to throw, trim and glaze their pots. All create cups, bowls and other simple forms. With handbuilding, they explore making functional and decorative objects.

The fee for each week-long session includes the cost of clay, materials and firing. Full day campers bring a bagged lunch.

HEALTH PROTOCOLS • Wearing a mask is now optional. • IMPORTANT, if feeling ill, stay home. Help us keep everyone safe and healthy.

WHAT TO BRING • Students should wear clothes that can get dirty, trim long fingernails short and tie back long hair. They should bring an old towel for wiping their hands. (Towels can also be rented for $1.00 each time.) Full day campers should bring a bagged lunch.
