Mark Shapiro has a way of opening eyes and eliciting wonder even from very experienced potters. In this hands-on workshop, Mark will work individually and with the group on technical and aesthetic issues to help move each potter to the next level. Space is limited to 11 participants on each day.

The workshop will be held from 9:30 am until 5:00 pm with a break for lunch. There are lots of delicious eateries in the neighborhood.

Mark Shapiro is a nationally renowned craftsman who has practiced his art for more than 35 years, his techniques and observations are valuable for anyone interested in the whole pottery-making process. His work is in many public collections. Currently a Smithsonian Artist Residency Fellow, Mark is a frequent workshop leader, lecturer, curator, panelist, writer, and mentor to a half-dozen apprentices who have trained at his Stonepool Pottery in western Massachusetts.
