Hinckley PotteryCamp Mud's summertime sessions offer a great introduction to clay for budding potters aged 9 to 14. We help develop skills in throwing on the potter’s wheel as well as in basic hand-building.
Instructors give a solid grounding in pottery fundamentals. Campers are taught how to center a mound of clay on the potter’s wheel, and how to throw, trim and glaze their pots. All campers will learn how to make cups, bowls and other simple forms.
Campers should dress in clothes they don't mind getting dirty, trim their fingernails short, tie back long hair, and bring an old towel for wiping their hands.
The fee for a two-week, six-class session is $200.00. In addition, there is a $25.00 nonrefundable registration fee. Cost of clay, use of tools and equipment, glazes and firing are included in the camp fee.
Located at our Adams Morgan studio, Camp Mud meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 to 3:30 pm.
Space is still available in Session 5: August 11 – August 22
Hinckley Pottery reserves the right to cancel this session if enrollment does not meet a minimum of six students. Maximum class size is 12.
