Camp Mud 2018

Morning (10 -1), afternoon (2-5) or all day
Week 1: June 25 - 29
Week 2: July 2 - 6 (no class July 4)
Week 3: July 9 - 13
Week4: July 16 -20
Week 5: July 23 - 27

Camp Mud offers a great introduction to working with clay for budding potters and clay artists aged 9 to 14. We help develop skills in throwing on the potter’s wheel as well as a variety of hand-building techniques.
The instructor gives a solid grounding in pottery fundamentals. On the wheel, students are taught how to center a mound of clay and later how to throw, trim and glaze their pots. All learn how to make cups, bowls and other simple forms. With handbuilding, they explore making functional and decorative objects.
Students should dress in clothes they don’t mind getting dirty, trim their fingernails short, tie back long hair and bring an old towel for wiping their hands. (Towels are also available for rent at $1.00 each time.)

Enrollment fee for each session is $250.00 and includes the cost of clay, materials and firing. There are no classes on July 4th; the fee for that week is $200.00. A full day of classes is an option; camper brings a bagged lunch. Full payment is required at registration.

Hinckley Pottery reserves the right to cancel a session if enrollment does not reach a minimum of five students. Maximum class size is 10. There are no refunds for registrations cancelled less than three weeks before the session begins. There are no refunds for absences. If a session is cancelled because of insufficient enrollment, Hinckley Pottery will make a full refund.
